Sea-NN is a true blockchain-native neural network that runs AI inference directly on Solana to recognize handwritten digits (0-9). Unlike other "AI + Web3" projects that just wrap centralized AI services, Sea-NN performs all computations on-chain using @seahorse_lang. When you draw a number, the neural network analyzes it through genuine blockchain transactions, with no dependence on external AI providers. The model weights and execution are fully decentralized and transparently verifiable on-chain. The convolutional neural network was trained on the MNIST dataset, then carefully engineered to work within Solana's computational constraints. The model weights had to be split across over 200 transactions due to blockchain size limits, demonstrating novel use of Solana's capabilities. Key technical innovations that enable true on-chain AI: - Binary pixel encoding (1 bit per pixel) for efficient state representation - Pre-computed 3x3 convolution patterns stored in program state - Fixed-point arithmetic using i32 integers (-32,768 to 32,767) - Fused neural network layers for optimal compute utilization The entire blockchain-native neural network implementation is just 73 lines of Python code.
